The name Amphora was taken from ancient Greek and Roman practices where an “Amphora” was considered a ceramic vessel used to store oil and wine. In this case, inspiration for the piece stems from the idea of a seed pod. Our solid bronze vessel of light is capable of directing its light source in any direction depending where it is faced and can be displayed as a singular or collection of Amphora’s. It’s adaptability in arrangement and direction of light source makes it multi-faceted in all spheres due to its ability to reticulate along its joints.
